Humayun’s Tomb

Connaught Place
Connaught Place (CP) is one of Delhi’s iconic landmarks and an all-year hot spot for shopping, dining, and nightlife. Home to an abundance of restaurants, stores and cafes catering to every taste and budget imaginable, Connaught Place boasts one of India’s premier entertainment districts.
Famous for its architecture and breathtaking design, Rajiv Chowk and Indira Chowk are two circles connected by eight radial roads that create two circles that enclose two circles within them – Rajiv Chowk to the inner circle, Indira Chowk to outer. Akshardham Temple
The Akshardham Temple in Delhi is a stunning piece of Indian architecture and an embodiment of India’s spiritual legacy, garnering global acclaim and drawing millions of visitors every year. Akshardham complex contains a temple, exhibition halls and two water bodies. At its center is an enormous statue of Lord Swaminarayan made out of Panchadhatu; the temple also includes lotus-shaped Yagna Purush Kund where musical fountains play flute, veena and drum melodies simultaneously; while Sahaj Anand show offers water musical performance as one more highlight of Akshardham.
Visitors of this spectacle are treated to sets depicting ancient Indian lifestyles and advances, such as Vedic marketplace, Yoga practices and an ancient classroom at Takshashila. One of the most captivating exhibits is Sanskruti Darshan – an exciting cultural boat ride lasting approximately 12 minutes that takes visitors through historic India.
Visit Akshardham Temple from October to March for optimal experience; during those months the temperature remains relatively pleasant for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Otherwise, expect blistering heat that makes sightseeing uncomfortable.
Lodhi Garden
Lodhi Garden provides the ideal green escape from Delhi’s hectic city life, boasting an extensive area and hosting several monuments from Lodi dynasty tombs and mosques as well as a jogging track popular with morning joggers looking to relax or simply looking to start their day right. Lodhi Gardens also features many labelled trees which make for one of the more pleasant spaces within its boundaries.
Lodi Gardens are home to tombs of several Indian kings and noblemen dating from between 15th and 16th centuries, serving as a reminder of India’s rich history. One such tomb is that of Sikandar Lodhi whose tomb features original battlements. Additionally, this location makes for excellent photography opportunites with stunning scenes offering beautiful photography opportunities.
Apart from tombs, the park also features numerous other things to see and do. Fountains adorning various parts of the garden are sure to entice guests; there’s also Athpula Bridge made up of eight pillars forming seven arches – with its centre arch serving as the biggest draw – not forgetting a lake and various monuments throughout.
Lodhi Garden is easily accessible by road, as its location near Jor Bagh Metro Station on the Yellow Line makes for quick travel time. Sanjay Van
Sanjay Van is one of Delhi’s green lungs, located near Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli. Covering 443 acres, its sprawling city forest area is rich with various species of flora and fauna – though pollution from city streets has caused damage by expanding non-endemic trees such as Prosopis juliflora which alter soil quality significantly.
The park is beloved among wildlife enthusiasts as it boasts an assortment of both native and migratory birds, making for a delightful hike for hikers and nature lovers alike. Hikers can discover its charming trails for themselves while nature lovers take refuge from city noise. Meanwhile, its serenity provides them with an escape from traffic noise, noise pollution, noise of city streets, noise resulting from industrialisation etc.
Known for its diverse medicinal plants, Mehrauli Forest is also famed for its lush forests. A special setup has been established near Mehrauli Medical Forest Point to inform visitors about these medicinal plants found there and within close proximity of Gate No 4; here they can learn about each type of medicine found there.
As part of Mayur Pahari Forest Reserve is also a lake, constructed at its center. While initially, its waters were polluted, they have now been cleaned up. Visitors can enjoy relaxing by spending their time here while rock climbing is also popular here and one can even experience watching city views from Mayur Pahari Park’s watchtower at any given time – an unforgettable experience to try for themselves!
