Built in 1999 at a cost of $1 billion on a man-made island with private beaches on three sides, the Burj continues to be one of the world’s most elite hotels. Guests must cross a guarded bridge before entering the hotel grounds.

Built on an artificial island off Dubai’s white sand beach, Burj Al Arab is an all-suite hotel with 28 duplexes and 202 luxury duplexes ranging from 1,830 to 8,396 square feet. Each suite offers unique first-class luxury, including a wide selection of complimentary Hermès toiletries, a “pillow menu” with 17 choices, and a “bath menu” with a butler to explain the different options.

With six elevated restaurants, a rooftop helipad, a Rolls-Royce shuttle service from the airport, and walls adorned with 24-karat gold leaf, this hotel relies on luxury to satisfy even the most discerning guest. With the shape of a dhow visible from miles away, the design and architecture of this hotel is very unique.
