And earlier this year I was able to go back and visit this beautiful place. Even though my trip was a little short, it gave me so much satisfaction that I was able to satisfy my desires and a few more reasons to come back and visit some of the places I missed on this trip.

In this blog, we will introduce you to some places that you should not miss if you visit Iloilo City this year.
There are many good hotels and accommodations in Iloilo City. But as I said in my previous travel article, it’s always good to find places close to some of the stops you’ll be visiting, as you can save time and money on travel costs to those sites as well. During my recent visit, we decided to stay for two nights at Hotel Richmonde near Megaworld Boulevard in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The hotel is close to the shops and museum we planned to visit. When is the best time to visit Iloilo? Well, it depends on what you do. If you decide to just stay and go around Iloilo City, 2-3 days is enough. This length can already be considered a leisure trip. However, if you want to hop around Gigantes island and/or visit other tourist attractions in other municipalities, it’s a good idea to add a day or two.
Riding a jeep is the best way to get around the city cheaply. Taxis are also available. Here are some places you can visit in Iloilo City
Tourist Attractions In Iloilo
Iloilo City is one of the best places to travel because there are so many delicious and authentic foods to try here. Of course, you must not forget to try the famous Iloilo Special batchoy. Some of these places are hard for you to find (some are within the water market), looking them up on Google Maps can be very helpful.
Popoy’s special group was voted the best group in Iloilo in the recently concluded and first-ever Batchoy Festival. Popoy can be difficult to find for first timers as it is located in Iloilo Central Market. As I said, if one really wants to maximize their time, it is best to avoid visiting during lunch or afternoon, or you may end up queuing before you can get a seat.
The good thing here is that you can ask for a filling of soup, which they call Caldo (batchoy soup), without extra charge. Great!
In another market, the La Paz Market, there is a coffee shop, Madge Café, famous for offering a selection of delicious coffee made with pre-war techniques, which offers a completely different coffee experience.
