Travel Guide In Fuerteventura – Fuerteventura is one of my favorite places in Spain’s Canary Islands, with its bright blue turquoise water contrasting with the red land. The island is known for its strong winds and is a great destination for water sports enthusiasts, but if you’re not into kiting, it also has stunning scenery.

I have been to the island twice and have stayed both in the north and south and now feel that I know the island well enough to offer travel advice when looking to explore the island.

Best time to visit: You can visit this island throughout the year and enjoy the warm temperature Both times I was there in March the temperature was between 20 and 25 degrees Temperatures may rise slightly in the summer months, but there are often strong winds to cool it down I think the best time to avoid summer travel is before or after summer

How to get there: You will arrive at the Puerto del Rosario airport and take a shuttle bus to your accommodation. It’s very cheap and easy and I recommend using this shuttle service: Shuttle Spain One way to Corralejo costs around €6,00 and to the south of the island (Esquinjo, Costa Calma etc.) around €14,000.

You can rent a car for the duration of your trip or for a few days It gives you a lot of freedom to explore the many islands Renting a car for a day costs 40,00 euros (the price goes down the day you rent) Another fun way is to rent a bike and explore the island a bit.

Where to stay: It depends on what you want My first stop was north of Corralejo Island It’s a small town and doesn’t really have a beach (except Popcorn Beach). However, it has a shopping street, many restaurants and places to eat; There are markets and a port If you like peace and quiet El Cotillo, a small fishing village with a wonderful beach

If you’re looking for a more beach vacation than look south with beach towns like Costa Calma and Moro Jable. Both have wonderful sandy beaches
